A customer update on the industrial action impacting Belgium’s rail network in November 2025
Belgian rail unions have announced a nationwide strike from 22:00 on 23 November until 22:00 on 26 November, during which rail operations are expected to halt. The action is supported by the autonomous train drivers’ union (SACT) and the country’s three major rail unions as part of a wider protest against Federal Government policies.
The strike forms part of a coordinated, three-day campaign across Belgium, with the following schedule announced:
The strikes will cause significant disruption to domestic rail movements within Belgium, as well as delays to cross-border rail freight entering or passing through Belgium, and possible congestion around ports, terminals and alternative transport routes.
