Peachies is a premium, subscription-based direct-to-consumer nappy and baby care brand, on a mission to make parenthood the most joyful life chapter. We spoke with Morgan Mixon, Co-Founder, and Lorenzo Mucchino, Senior Manager, Operations and Customer Experience, about how their partnership with Zencargo has supported their brand’s growth.
“We started Peachies as a business school project.” Says Morgan. “My co-founder, Rima, and I launched Peachies in 2023, when I was seven months pregnant. It’s been a wild journey scaling an award-winning, trusted brand.
“We couldn’t find a nappy brand that felt genuinely reflective of today’s millennial and Gen Z parents, something that combined purpose with convenience. So we built one. Our mission is simple: make parenthood the most joyful of life’s chapters. We’ve grown entirely direct-to-consumer, organically, from 10 families to more than 100,000, and we’ve recently expanded our product offering into pants with new products to come very soon. We’re UK focused but have big plans for the future.”
Lorenzo explained the challenges the team was encountering before partnering with Zencargo:
“We were working off spreadsheets and email chains with our freight forwarders; some of those threads ran past 120 messages long so we couldn’t predict when there might be an issue and that caught up with us.
“What stood out immediately about Zencargo was the combination of technology and people. We’d been managing everything ourselves as a two-person ops team, and we needed a partner who could give us the infrastructure of a much bigger operation without forcing us to build one internally.”
“We’ve moved from fragmented email chains to a single platform where we can share documents, communicate with suppliers, and track every container; we have the visibility to anticipate delays before they hit, so we are able to plan around them.
“Having a named contact at Zencargo who we can call or message directly has been just as important as the platform itself. We can speak to our account manager whenever we need to. That kind of access is what makes this feel like a partnership rather than a vendor relationship.”
“As a founder, that reliability gives me real peace of mind.” Morgan added. “Lorenzo and I know that, if either of us is on holiday, the other can send a message on the platform and get a response within hours. That’s been huge for how we run a lean team.”
Lorenzo shared the value the business has experienced since working with Zencargo:
“Our lead times have dropped by 25%. Containers that used to take 40 to 42 days from our manufacturer in Canada now arrive in 24. That reliability has let us hold significantly less safety stock; we’d built a three-month buffer, and we’ve been able to bring that right down because we trust the supply chain behind it.
“We’ve also been able to scale the business, roughly doubling our customer base and expanding our SKU range, without adding headcount to our operations team. And we haven’t actually utilised everything the Zencargo platform and Luca can do yet: we’re about to onboard a new supplier to the platform, and we’re building out a dashboard to track lead time and punctuality as core KPIs.”
Lorenzo explains why AI is so important for fast-growing brands today:
“AI is going to make supply chains more predictive but we don’t think it replaces the human side of this industry. Freight forwarders need to combine AI with real people, and that balance is something we think Zencargo has nailed.
“If we heard tomorrow that a partner was replacing all of its account managers with automation, we’d walk. Supply chain is a human game at the end of the day; you need to be able to get someone on the phone. AI is a hugely helpful tool when it’s deployed correctly, but it can be detrimental when the human element gets overlooked. The partners, and the companies, that find the right balance between the two are the ones that will win.”
“If another founder asked us what to look for in a supply chain partner, we’d point to four things: credibility, responsibility, reliability, and neutrality, so the advice you get is genuinely in your interest, not just theirs.
“We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Zencargo and regularly do so to other founders building brands we admire.”
