We’re thrilled to announce that we’re welcoming supply chain industry veteran John Urban – founder of GT Nexus and advisor to several leading SCM businesses – as a strategic advisor.  His arrival continues our ongoing investment in developing market-leading supply chain software that delivers huge value for retailers.

Best in class technology

“At Zencargo, data, technology and innovation sit at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to finding new solutions to one of the world’s oldest problems – international trade – and that starts with a best-in-class technology” said our CEO and Co-Founder Alex Hersham.

“Having the right advisors in our corner is essential for plotting the right path forwards for our customers and our industry, especially at a time when so many are still recovering from the disruption of COVID-19.”

John Urban was co-founder and President of GT Nexus, the leading cloud platform for supply chain management and control tower solutions. One of the first cloud platforms for supply chain, GT Nexus built significant market share from global leaders in retail, apparel, automotive, chemicals, pharma, consumer electronics, as well as logistics service providers. Since the business was acquired by Infor in September 2015 for $675 million, John has worked with several supply chain-focused businesses, including Clear Metal, Slync and Mercado Labs.

Delivering huge value

“Alex and his Co-Founders have already delivered remarkable growth in the three and a half years Zencargo has been operating, and that’s all down to vision,” said Urban. “The leadership team have shown that they’re able to deliver huge value for global retailers through effective use of technology and data  and I’m delighted to have the exciting opportunity to contribute my expertise to Alex and the rest of the business.”

“John brings incredible insight to the table, having built the company that wrote the book on supply chain management software and helped many others grow and thrive,” added Hersham. “We’re thrilled to be the first business outside the US with whom John has partnered, and I know his input will be invaluable to our whole team.”
